Saint Nicholas and Santa Claus
Alongside the Easter bunnies, Saint Nicholas and Santa Claus also received a new look. For decades, chocolate Saint Nicholas figures were cast in old moulds with classical, “normal” proportions: essentially a scaled-down version of a human. Around these traditional chocolate figures a newly designed wrapper was introduced, in which the head, hands, and body were given different proportions. As a result, the Saint Nicholas figure appeared more modern and attractive, while the inside remained the same classic chocolate figure made with the familiar old moulds. Later, the moulds themselves were also adapted to the new times.
