Retired Toys
When is it okay for toys to retire? With a father's or mother's blocks, their children can build new towers. The blocks will wear out a bit more, and the color might fade. Can a 30-year-old teddy bear that still looks reasonably good see a child grow up again? Or an 80-year-old doll?
Toys often last for generations, passed down from parent to child.
Corry and Rokus often felt that a beautiful toy was ready for retirement after being used very intensively for one or two generations.
The toys they designed often lasted even longer. The designs are still for sale every day on platforms such as Marktplaats and eBay.
