Batiks
Corry Mobach learned the batik technique mid 70s. The technique is based on the water repellant effect of the wax. The technique has many variables such as the hot wax, the used textile, dyes and fixers which react with each other.
Corry further developed the technique often pushing the boundaries of what is possible, such as the use of certain colour combinations in one batik.
Topics of batiks are especially cycling, landscapes and people.
In 1977 a batik of an owl was given to Prime Minister drs J.J. den Uijl on the occasion of the opening of youth centre 'De Sluis' in Gouda.
Corry: These are all things that I enjoyed making so much. It's just so unfortunate that it's finished.
